Joshua Morrow and his wife Tobe have been married for 21 years. However, their romance had its ups and downs, especially in the early stages. Inside their love story.
American Actor Jacob Joshua Morrow is a talented TV star that continues to make a mark in the entertainment industry with his phenomenal performances.
He is best known for featuring opposite Actress Rachel Ward in the 1997 drama series “My Stepson, My Lover.” However, Morrow achieved international recognition for playing Nicholas Newman in “The Young and the Restless” soap opera in 1994.
He became a household name in the industry because of his charming character. Although fans are in awe of the movie star, many are ignorant that Morrow is a doting father and husband in real life.
HOW JOSHUA MORROW MET HIS WIFE
In addition to his stellar career, Morrow has quite a stable family. The actor has been married to his only girlfriend-turned-wife, Tobe Keeney, for 21 years.
When the duo first met, Morrow was only 22 years old. It was love at first sight for the actor when he spotted his wife in a rose garden in Santa Barbara.
To date, Morrow is grateful he was a part of “The Young and the Restless,” as he was fortunate to meet his woman through the soap.
When the pair met, the actor knew at that moment that she was the one for him. Morrow told Tobe at the spot that someday, they would get married, but she waved the conversation aside, calling him a weirdo.
Morrow still remembers the events of that day and wishes he could relive every moment. During a chat with Soap Opera Digest in 2018, the Hollywood star said:
“I would like to go back to that day and see her in her light blue sundress and fall in love with her all over again.”
Morrow and Tobe began dating shortly after their Santa Barbara encounter. However, it was short-lived for a relationship filled with love and the envy of many.
Although Morrow has plans laid out for his children, he firmly believes that none of them can be coerced into doing what they don’t want.
Three years after the start of their relationship, the couple broke up, but it was only a matter of time before they reconciled. Morrow had developed a severe injury on his leg while playing basketball, forcing him to stop sports for a year.
So, Tobe called to check up on his leg, and the pair got back together, and they finally tied the knot. Although the couple’s reconciliation resulted from misfortune, they have never parted ways.
Morrow and Tobe walked down the aisle on August 4, 2001, in Santa Barbara, California. It was a glamorous occasion single-handedly put together by the stunning bride. Their wedding day will always be unforgettable for Morrow, who described it as “magical.”
Apart from being in awe of the event, the actor was dumbfounded when he saw his wife walking down the aisle. The father of four recalled:
“I’ve never seen her look more beautiful, more ethereal. She looked like an angel coming towards me.”
He mentioned that it was very dull to show a happy couple living together for years on screen, but he did not mind because that was the type of marriage they had. Morrow also said:
“My wife is the love of my life; we expect our marriage to be a 70-year partnership.”
The actor is head over heels in love with his wife, and it is evident from how he treats her and serenades her with kind words during interviews. In 2018, Morrow had a chat with Soaps in Depth, where he spoke candidly about Tobe and how he felt towards her.
The star described his wife as an awesome lady. Morrow further stated: “I love her to death, and I truly don’t deserve her.” He also said:
“My beautiful wife has given me the four coolest children that I could ever have asked for.”
Apart from Tobe’s unique personality and sacrifices for the family, the “My Stepson, My Lover” actor is also in love with his wife’s scent, particularly after she comes out of the shower. He says the mom of four smells fantastic and clean, and it is intoxicating.
INSIDE THE COUPLE’S PARENTING
Morrow and Tobe are doting parents to four children, three boys, Cooper, Crew, Cash, and one girl, Charlie. The longtime pair welcomed Charlie in 2012, and it was a joyful moment as they had always hoped for a girl.
The proud father initially said Tobe was scared it would be a boy. However, she got her wish and welcomed a little girl. While the family members were thrilled about Charlie’s arrival, Morrow confessed that his youngest son was unhappy.
The little boy already imagined his toys being moved to various parts of the house. He was so angry that he made rules about where Charlie could and could not go.
While the couple’s son was interested in Charlie’s in-house movements, the parents deliberated on dressing a girl. They were used to flat brims and baller shots, but Tobe was convinced that Charlie would wear many pink outfits and have dance classes in the future.
Although Morrow has plans laid out for his children, he firmly believes that none of them can be coerced into doing what they don’t want.
For example, the actor is a sports enthusiast, while his first son is more interested in music. For Morrow, it was troubling at first, but with time, he understood.
The proud dad is more focused on listening to his kids and spending time with them. He often plays sports with them, and they help keep him very active.
Morrow thinks of his family as motivation. He says he works very hard for them because they have been generous to him over the years.
To date, his definition of the word success is “Provide for your family.” As long as he lives, the actor is bent on looking after his family.
